Covenant Duty explained – Housing (Senior Officers)

Warwickshire County Council have developed a range of e-learning modules on the Armed Forces Covenant and Covenant Duty. This is the second of a series of three specifically focusing on the Covenant Duty and the three areas that come under the Duty: healthcare, housing and education.

The training has been developed by Warwickshire County Council on behalf of  Coventry, Solihull and Warwickshire Armed Forces Covenant Partnership (external link) with funding from the Trust under the  Sustaining Delivery of the Covenant programme.

The e-learning course will cover the following:

  • The Armed Forces Covenant and Covenant Duty
  • How to apply the Covenant Duty at an individual and organisational/corporate level
  • Scenarios: exploring some case studies and investigating if and how the Covenant Duty applies
  • Summary recap of the course

Who is this e-learning for?

This e-learning is for anyone working within a Local Authority, Housing Authority, or other organisation across the UK who needs to understand what the Armed Forces Covenant Duty is and how it applies within housing. It is also applicable to those involved in the strategy and planning of housing and homelessness services.

In terms of roles, this e-learning is appropriate for those involved in senior roles such as leadership, policy making, decision making, planning, commissioning, strategy, service re-design as well as programme and operational management of the organisation.

Pre-requisite

There is an introductory module to the Armed Forces Covenant and community, which is available on our website. This brief module forms a starting point for understanding the Covenant etc. and we recommend those undertaking this module to complete the introductory module first.
