Suicide prevention conference

On 11 October 2023, the Trust hosted the One Is Too Many: Suicide Prevention Conference. This impact conference showcased the excellent work taking place by the funded projects, and revealed the findings from the programme evaluation, undertaken by the University of Chester.

We were also honoured to be joined by subject matter experts from MOD, government, and NHS, as well as representatives from a plethora of other charities working in this area. It was also great to have two veterans, with lived experience of mental health challenges, join us to share their inspirational stories.

The One Is Too Many programme, funded by by HM Treasury, is part of the Veterans’ Mental Health and Wellbeing Fund. The programme awarded £2.1 million to projects providing specialist and coordinated services that reduce suicide risk in veterans.

A live stream was set up for the morning sessions of our conference. This recording is available to watch below.
