Under the Armistice and Armed Forces Communities programme, the Trust made awards to community groups, places of worship, charities and schools to give them up to 10 silhouettes to support events in their local area. We have made awards to 2,773 organisations.
A key priority for the programme was to encourage communities to come together for community events that helped those involved to remember and to think about the Armed Forces today.
Under this programme, community groups received support for events around the time of the Armistice 100 year commemorations, and were also encouraged to think about the armed forces today.
Community groups received awards enabling them to access evocative silhouettes which brought to mind those who did not return.
Community groups were required to hold a community event as part of their award.
