I have an idea for a project which will primarily address the needs of wounded, injured and sick serving personnel or veterans. Can I apply under this programme?
No. Under this programme we will only fund projects where family members are the direct, target project beneficiaries. Your project may also benefit the wounded injured and sick serving person or veteran, but this will be incidental and project delivery must focus on improving the lives of their family members.
Why is there a minimum grant amount of £50k?
The needs of the families of those who are wounded, injured and sick are complex and projects funded through this programme will be expected to demonstrate significant, positive impact on their beneficiaries through identifying and implementing innovative, impactful and potentially sustainable solutions.
Does my project have to meet all the programme outcomes?
No. Projects must meet one or more of the programme outcomes. We will give equal consideration to applications for projects that take a range of approaches to address the needs of the families of wounded, injured and sick serving personnel and Veterans. This includes those with a specific focus on one programme outcome and those with a broader or blended approach.
Can we use funds for individual support grants to meet specific needs?
No. Funds cannot be used for the benefit of only one person, or for making grants or donations of money or items to individuals or families. Please refer to the programme guidance for further information on use of funds.
We are a specialist organisation which works to address the needs of family members with caring responsibilities, but without previous experience of targeted work with the armed forces community. Can we apply for funding from this programme?
Yes, we would welcome an application from you. However, we would expect the project to be delivered in partnership with another organisation (or organisations) which have substantial recent experience of working with armed forces communities or which are armed forces-specific. There is more information about our eligibility criteria and partnership working in the programme guidance.
My organisation would like to submit an application for a project which will include development of guidance and materials to improve how service providers work with family carers in the context of the armed forces community. Could we apply to this programme?
We will consider projects which include development of resources, awareness raising activities and better-equipped service providers. However, all projects must include direct delivery of services and be able to report measurable improvements to the lives of family members within the project period.
