Open to Charities, CICs and local government bodies

VALOUR is a UK-wide programme, delivered on behalf of the Office of Veterans Affairs (OVA), that aims to improve how veterans access local, in-person support by developing VALOUR-recognised Centres (VRCs) across the UK that can connect them to the help they need. VRCs will need to operate collaboratively with other statutory and non-statutory support services within their region.

The following organisation types were eligible to apply:

  • A registered charity which can demonstrate relevant experience and engagement in the provision of services to veterans.
  • A CIC that has been established more than three years so that evidence of governance, financial and operational management can be provided, and that you can demonstrate relevant experience and engagement in the provision of services to veterans.
  • A local government body.

There is more detailed information about eligibility in the programme guidance.

Development funding of either £200-500k or £501k-1m is available over three years.

Decisions will prioritise regions where there remains the greatest geographical need. In areas where a VRC already exists, applicants must consider how they will complement the provision and collaborate with providers funded in Round One.

VALOUR aims to provide veterans and the wider armed forces community with easier access to in-person essential guidance and support.

Under this programme, we want to fund projects that will deliver the following outcomes:

  • Help reduce the postcode lottery by delivering more equity of access and a level of consistency in service quality.
  • Enhance collaboration and coordination within your area between statutory and non-statutory organisations.
  • Help improve understanding of need through sharing data and information on veterans and the wider armed forces community.

There is more information on the programme aims and outcomes in the programme guidance document.

Round Two of the programme will follow a two-stage process; Stage One is an Expression of Interest (EOI) stage where applicants will be able to share an overview of their proposed project, followed by a Stage Two, the Full Application stage only for organisations invited to progress further in the process.

Stage One: Expressions of Interest must be submitted by 12:00 midday 15 June 2026.

Stage Two: Successful Stage One applicants will be invited to submit a full application in July 2026, with a deadline to submit a full application by 12:00 midday 26 August 2026.
