Positive Pathways reopen for applications

July 14, 2020

The Positive Pathway programme has reopened for two further rounds thanks to funding from HM Treasury.

In February 2020, HM Treasury provided a further £10 million for 2020/21 to the Trust, to deliver charitable projects and initiatives that support veterans with mental health needs.

This funding demonstrates this government’s ongoing commitment to ensuring that our veterans can access the services and support they deserve.

What’s it all about?

Some of this funding is being used to support a further two rounds of the Positive Pathways programme, which awards grants for activities for veterans, which can have a positive impact on mental health and wellbeing.

We want to fund projects that are shaped and led by veterans, for veterans.

Steven Inman, our Strategic Grants Manager said:

“We are delighted to be opening rounds 4 and 5 of this popular programme. We’ve made some tweaks to the guidance, so do make sure you read the new version, and remember that you can get help with your application.”

There are some changes to rounds 4 and 5 – our updated guidance has all the information you need if you’re thinking about applying.

The main changes are as follows.

  • We will be awarding grants for one year only. So, you can apply for a fixed grant of £35,000. We have done this as the impact of Covid-19 has made it more challenging for organisations to plan ahead.
  • An organisation can only hold a maximum of three grants under the Positive Pathway programme at any one time.

Get help with your application

If you would like support with your application, then our Strategic Partners can help. If you are awarded a grant, they will mentor your project, help you to connect your project with wider pathways of care and work with you on sustaining the outcomes of your work.

When can you apply?

You can apply any time from now. If you submit your application to us by noon on 25 August 2020, then you’ll get a decision by the end of November 2020.

The final closing date is noon on 30 November 2020.  We can’t receive any applications after that date. You’ll get a decision by the end of February 2021.

What can I do to put in a great application?

We are keen that any projects we fund do not duplicate existing work. It’s up to you to tell us in your application why your project is needed, and that it doesn’t duplicate any other work we have funded.

You can see a list of all of the projects we have funded, here.
