New ‘Fulfilling Futures’ Programme Launched to Support Veterans Overcoming Service Related Challenges
We’re pleased to introduce the Fulfilling Futures programme, part of our suite of new Covenant Fund programme launches.
Using feedback from our consultation findings, we designed this programme to improve the quality of life for Veterans who have experienced significant, negative impact which is evidenced to be related to their Service.
What is the Fulfilling Futures programme all about?
In our Covenant Consultation last year, you told us that ‘ensuring our Armed Forces communities are not disadvantaged’ was a key issue for us to focus on. Our consultation findings are available to read on our website.
The new programme will focus on supporting Veterans who have faced significant and evident challenges during their Service, which has created barriers or compromised their ability to have a fulfilling Service experience.
For projects lasting 12-18 months for grants between £50,000 and £100,000, you will need to achieve at least one of the programme outcomes. Grants up to £300,000 for projects which take place over three-four years are required to meet all following outcomes:
- Veterans’ experiences are acknowledged and understood, enabling them to positively progress on their recovery journey.
- Veterans’ isolation will be reduced and quality of life improved, through gaining access to effective support.
- Veterans can build a positive connection with the wider Armed Forces community and access support in the future, should they wish or be able to access other support mechanisms that are most relevant to them.
Organisations can either apply for a project lasting 12-18 months for grants between £50,000 and £100,000 or projects lasting three to four years for grants up to £300,000.
Who can apply?
We’re inviting applications from registered charities, Community Interest Companies (CICs) local authorities and statutory organisations.
What type of project are we looking to support?
We want to support pilot projects or innovative approaches aimed at improving the lives of specific communities of Veterans who have been negatively impacted by issues related to their Service.
If you apply for a grant, you will need to provide a clear evidence base that outlines the unique needs within the Veteran community and demonstrates how they are under-represented in existing support services.
The application deadline is 12pm on 4 December 2024. You will receive a decision before end of February 2025.
