Climate Change: We’d love your views
Climate change has cross-cutting impacts for all charities, whatever their mission. And all grant-making organisations – whatever their area of focus – have a part to play too.
We’re doing some exploratory thinking about what this might look like for our ways of working and would really value your views, if you can spare the time to share them.
We’d really love to understand what’s already being asked of you in this area, what you think is important for your organisation and what role you think there might be for funders like us.
Thanks for any thoughts you’d like to share!
Check out some of the thought leadership pieces our team has been reading on climate change:
- Wise words from Nick Addington, Chief Executive of the William Grant Foundation, at the ACF Leaders Forum on the Climate Emergency
- A great summary of the challenge, from the Funder Commitment on Climate Change: “The scale of the climate threat, and the scale of the solutions needed, means that this is an issue for all parts of civil society, and for all charitable foundations. Climate change is a health issue, an equality issue, an educational issue, an economic issue, a cultural issue, a scientific issue, a security issue and a local community issue, as well as an environmental issue. Children and young people are showing bold and effective leadership. There is a special responsibility on foundations, whose assets are held for the public good, to use their resources and independence to rise to the challenge.”
- This blog from Carol Mack, ACF Chief Executive: ‘While foundations can’t do everything, they can do something.’
