Help us find out more about small grants programmes – complete our survey
The Armed Forces Covenant Fund Trust and the Directory of Social Change are running a survey to find out more about small grants and small grants programmes. For the purposes of this research, we consider a small grant to be a grant of £20,000 or under.
Why are we running this survey?
We want to gain a better understanding of small grants and small grants programmes. We want to find out what makes small grants programmes successful, and how they can be improved.
We want to make sure the Trust is following best practice in this area, for the benefit of our applicants, our grant holders and the Armed Forces community we serve. We’ll also share what we learn with all funders who may find it helpful.
If you’ve had a good experience with a small grant or small grants programme, tell us what made it good. If you have ideas on how things could be done differently, we would love to hear them too.
We know the sector is asked to do lots of surveys, so we’ve kept this as short as possible. We think it will take about ten minutes to complete.
What will we do with your responses?
Our survey is part of a wider research project looking at small grants and small grants programmes. The survey responses will be analysed and the findings will be featured in a report to be published in February 2023. We won’t identify anyone in the report or anywhere else, unless we’ve been given explicit permission to do so. You don’t have to tell us who you are or where you work if you don’t want to.
What’s the point?
Understanding small grants better will help the Trust and other funders to make small grants programmes that work better – both for the organisations applying for the grant and for the people who will benefit from the grant.
Is this only open to Armed Forces charities?
No! We’d like to hear from anyone with experience of applying for small grants.
