Programme overview

In 2015, 14 grants worth £4.6 million were awarded to support projects working with ex-Forces with the aim of reducing re-offending. Projects focused on either first contact with the police, those in prison or those post-release.

Information on the programme. 

£4.6M was awarded in 2015 to support projects with ex-service personnel with the aim of reducing reoffending. 

Projects have had success in reaching former service personnel who are currently offending or who are at risk of offending

£1.1M
In 2018, 7 continuation grants were made under the continuation and sustainability fund 

A total of £5.7M has been awarded under the programme as a whole

This evaluation focuses on the Armed Forces Covenant Fund Trust’s Ex-Service Personnel in the Criminal Justice System (CJS) Programme, and was evaluated by RAND Europe. Through this Programme, the Trust awarded £4.6 million in 2015 to 14 projects that support ex-Service personnel who have come into contact with the CJS, followed by a further £1.1 million of continuation grants in 2018 to seven of the 14 projects.
