Interim Report: Evaluation of the Reducing Veteran Homelessness Programme

January 2025

Delivered by the Trust on behalf of the Office for Veterans’ Affairs, the Reducing Veteran Homelessness programme awarded nine grants worth a total of £7.2 million to projects contributing to the government’s ambition to reduce Veteran homelessness and end rough sleeping. These projects aim to improve the capacity of services, so they are better able to help Veterans with a range of needs within supported housing.

The Trust commissioned Alma Economics to conduct a comprehensive evaluation of the programme over a three-year period. While the programme itself will run for two years, the evaluation extends into a third year to assess both immediate and longer-term impacts.

The Interim Evaluation Report below summarises the findings from the evaluation’s first year, covering a scoping phase, as well as process, impact and economic evaluations. The report looks at what has worked well and why in the programme’s delivery, as well as evaluating impact and value for money and looking at lessons learnt so far.
