Strategic Pathways Programme open for Expressions of Interest
The Chancellor of the Exchequer announced £10M to support Veterans Mental Health and Wellbeing in the Autumn Budget 2018. This Fund is being delivered by the Armed Forces Covenant Fund Trust.
The Veterans Mental Health and Wellbeing Fund aims to give veterans more choice and control over their own personal recovery journeys; enabling veterans to take part in activities that are personally meaningful, while receiving good support with their mental health and wellbeing needs.
There are two distinct programmes being run under the Veterans Mental Health and Wellbeing Fund
¨ The Strategic Pathways Programme,
¨ The Positive Pathways Programme: Funding new experiences for Ex Service Personnel
The consultation to shape the Positive Pathways Programme, which has a budget of up to £9M, is underway.
Expressions of Interest can be submitted under the Strategic Pathways Programme.
The programme will fund a small number of national organisations who will provide support and mentoring to organisations delivering activities and opportunities under the Positive Pathways Programme
Strategic Pathway Providers therefore need to be
- Large organisations experienced in running projects to support veterans with poor mental health
- Experienced in being part of, and developing cross sector pathways of care
- Able to work nationally
- Able to encourage, share learning and good practice; and act as a mentor
- Be able to help smaller organisations insert their activities into wider recovery pathways
The Strategic Pathways Programme will only award grants to large organisations that want to help smaller organisations connect their work to support better recovery pathways for veterans in the longer term.
If you are seeking funding to offer activities for veterans, then the Positive Pathways Programme will open for applications in May 2019. You can take part in the consultation to help shape this programme until 15th March 2019.
