Force for Change programme reopens for three further rounds
We’re delighted to announce three further rounds of the Force for Change programme, for projects that reduce social isolation and promote integration of Forces communities.
In light of the effects of the Covid-19 pandemic, we’ve made some changes to the fund criteria.
This year, we’ll support ideas that need small amounts of funding to deliver nimble and focused local projects to Armed Forces communities; or make small grants to support services, projects and activities that are used by Armed Forces communities but are struggling as a result of the impact of the Covid pandemic.
What’s available?
One-year grants of up to £10,000 are available for projects meeting at least one of our two priorities for 2021/22, which are:
- Empowering Armed Forces communities to become more engaged in their local area.
- Providing opportunities for isolated members of the Armed Forces community to take part in activities that improve general wellbeing
This allows us to support even more organisations with their Forces community focused projects after what has been a challenging year.
We encourage organisations to read the programme guidance for all eligibility criteria. Your project idea doesn’t have to be new and you can apply for continuation or extensions of existing work where this provides a clear benefit to people from Armed Forces communities.
When should I apply?
To have your application considered in the first round, you’ll need to have your application to us no later than midday on 12 April 2021 and can expect a decision by the end of June.
Our online application portal will open soon, but in the meantime, we encourage you to begin planning your project using the programme guidance and word application form available on our Force for Change programme page.
Too soon for you to apply? Don’t worry, there will be a further two rounds.
- Apply by midday on 2 August for a decision in late October
- Apply by midday on 19 November for a decision in late February 2022
