Grant awarded to reduce Veteran Homelessness
The Armed Forces Covenant Fund Trust has worked with the Office for Veterans’ Affairs to award a grant under a specialist grant scheme to end veteran homelessness.
Nearly £500,000 has been awarded to Riverside to run Operation FORTITUDE, a UK wide referral pathway that will support homeless veterans or veterans at risk of of homelessness into housing. Riverside will work in partnership with charities, veteran supported housing providers, local authorities and other organisations to support veterans and manage referrals. The pathway will be accessible to veterans at risk of or experiencing homelessness; and the organisations that support them.
Applications for grants under the wider £8.55m programme will open in Spring; and be managed by the Armed Forces Covenant Fund Trust.
