Serving Families: On the Move programme now open for applications!
The Armed Forces Covenant Fund: Serving Families: On the Move is now open for applications for grants of up £120,000 for two-to-three-year projects that will improve the quality of life for Service families impacted by relocation as a direct result of Service life.
What is the Serving Families: On the Move programme all about?
Serving Families: On the Move is the first programme we are launching under our new three-year Covenant Fund Funding Framework. We’ve designed the programme to meet specific needs identified through our public Consultation in 2023.
Our Covenant Consultation identified that one of the key areas for us to focus on was ‘Reducing stress and challenges for Armed Forces families’. This family focused programme will address this aim by strengthening connections with local communities, leading to better support for those facing relocation as a direct result of Service. Our consultation findings are available to read on our website.
Serving Families: On the Move will support projects which achieve one or more of the following outcomes:
- Improved access to localised information to support Service families in new and unfamiliar locations.
- Enhanced access to activities to improve the wellbeing of Service families.
- Collaboration with families to develop effective support networks.
Who can apply?
We’re inviting applications from UK-based registered charities, both Armed Forces charities or those keen to collaborate with Armed Forces charities, who have been registered for at least three years at the time of application.
Please note: organisations cannot apply more than once per funding round under this programme.
A full list of eligibility is available in the programme guidance below.
What type of project are we looking to support?
Our focus is on prevention and early intervention. We’re looking for projects aimed at assisting serving families in accessing services during relocation.
If you apply for a grant, you will need to show us how your project will help families integrate into new communities to develop networks and friendships. Your project should offer preventive approaches with a strong focus on health and wellbeing.
There will be two deadlines for applications:
The first application deadline is 12pm on 18 September 2024. You will receive a decision before end of December 2024.
The second application deadline is 12pm on 22 January 2025. You will receive a decision before end of March 2025.
