What’s available

You can apply for a grant of between £50,000 and £100,000 towards a project of 12 to 18 months in duration.

Themes and priorities

We want to support projects that explore and pilot solutions for family members- collectively and as individuals of wounded, injured and sick serving personnel or veterans.

Your project will need to meet one or more of the following outcomes:

  • Family members of those who are wounded, injured or sick feel better informed and more able to access relevant information, advice and guidance, applicable to their situation.
  • Family members of those who are wounded, injured or sick feel less lonely/isolated, more resilient and better equipped to deal with their circumstances.
  • Family members of those who are wounded, injured and sick have developed their skills for work, or have greater confidence to pursue volunteering or employment when it’s right for them.

The focus for 2025/26 is supporting projects that test new ideas, refine successful pilots, or expand services developed in the past five years, provided they are not part of an organisations core work.

Deadlines and dates to note

If you apply by 12 noon Wednesday 24 September 2025, you will receive a decision before the end of December 2025.

Frequently asked questions

Please note, we will add to this list if and when we receive queries from applicants.

No. Under this programme we will only fund projects where family members are the direct, target project beneficiaries. Your project may also benefit the wounded injured and sick serving person or veteran, but this will be incidental and project delivery must focus on improving the lives of their family members.

The needs of the families of those who are wounded, injured and sick are complex and projects funded through this programme will be expected to demonstrate significant, positive impact on their beneficiaries through identifying and implementing innovative, impactful and potentially sustainable solutions.

No. Projects must meet one or more of the programme outcomes. We will give equal consideration to applications for projects that take a range of approaches to address the needs of the families of wounded, injured and sick serving personnel and Veterans. This includes those with a specific focus on one programme outcome and those with a broader or blended approach.

No. Funds cannot be used for the benefit of only one person, or for making grants or donations of money or items to individuals or families. Please refer to the programme guidance for further information on use of funds.

Yes, we would welcome an application from you. However, we would expect the project to be delivered in partnership with another organisation (or organisations) which have substantial recent experience of working with Armed Forces communities or which are Armed Forces-specific. There is more information about our eligibility criteria and partnership working in the programme guidance.

We will consider projects which include development of resources, awareness raising activities and better-equipped service providers. However, all projects must include direct delivery of services and be able to report measurable improvements to the lives of family members within the project period.
