Second round of popular NAAFI Welfare Fund announced
Following the popularity of the first round of the NAAFI Welfare Fund, we are delighted to announce the next round in 2021.
The NAAFI Fund awards grants between £5,000 and £20,000 to the British Armed Forces, for projects that improve the quality of life for serving personnel and their families.
The 2021 round of funding follows last year’s incredibly successful initial round , the successful recipients of which will be advised in March this year.
The 2021 round of NAAFI funding will open in April with the successful recipients notified in September.
This funding will continue to be provided annually in the years to come.
So, what is the NAAFI Fund all about?
Funding is available for projects that bring people together on a base or station to help reduce isolation and create community togetherness.
You could request funding to refurbish a communal space, purchase equipment, or for fees for a limited time (where you can show us that this is an important part of your project, and that it will help improve life on base).
Steve Marshall, NAAFI’s Managing Director explains:
“We are delighted to offer this funding to our Armed Forces personnel and their families. NAAFI exists to enhance the welfare of these communities and we are incredibly excited to be able to provide funding for many of the great projects that will bring people together, help reduce isolation and enhance the lives of those NAAFI was set up 100 years ago to serve”.
To apply, you will need to show in your application that there is no other obvious source of funding available and follow the simple two-step process:
Stage 1 – Initial eligibility check to ensure project ideas are eligible and meet the priorities of the Fund.
Stage 2 – Complete your application through our online web portal.

Further updates to follow once the new round of funding goes live.
