Happy New Year – a message from our New Chief Executive, Anna Wright
Happy New Year All,
I am absolutely thrilled to be joining the Trust and working with such an exceptional team funding vital projects that help to deliver the Armed Forces Covenant.
These important programmes support our Servicemen and Women, Veterans, the Bereaved, Reserves and their families and I very much look forward to building on the strong foundations laid by Melloney Poole.
There were some tremendous achievements in 2021 and the Trust was very agile in responding to Covid by focusing on what they could do to support the Armed Forces charity sector and the people it supports. With over 700+ Forces projects supported, 116 of those grants were for projects to help veterans gain better mental health, and over £25 million was awarded in support of the Armed Forces Community.
I’m very excited about 2022, a new phase for the Trust. This is going to be a complex year as we strive to enhance the quality of life for those in the Armed Forces Community, through our targeted funding, that will make an instant and continued impact; while ensuring that our programmes continue to offer support and flexibility to the Armed Forces charities and voluntary organisations that deliver such amazing work.
I’m really interested in listening to your views. We will be shortly launching a survey which will help us to develop our funding programmes; so do keep an eye out! I would be hugely grateful for any time that you can spare to share your thoughts with us.
Anna Wright,
Chief Executive, The Armed Forces Covenant Fund Trust
