Read More“If I was to describe the Covenant Fund in one word, that word would be lifechanging, pivotal, encouraging, transformative, essential, transformational.”
“Without the funding, we would never have got this project off the ground. It’s been able to establish this piece of work, not just locally in the Northwest, but also recognised nationally. In the last two years, we’ve reached over 20,000 people – that’s incredible. Without the fund, this could never have been achieved.”
“The project went well. We had more people joining it then we had expected. And it really helped us as an organisation to grow a feeling of trust with our beneficiaries, the veterans, and their family members. Which I think has helped us all grow resilience with all the problems everyone facing at the moment”.
“The project went very well, beyond our expectations. We’ve been able to collect veterans and do a daily meal in the centre that’s open six days a week. So, they are getting a full, nutritious home cooked meal.”
“It’s integrated so many families; It’s now all word of mouth. When families get moved to a base, they will come to the sessions because their neighbours have told them about it. So, the projects impact has been massive.”
“The grant has enabled us to get into nature and to create the project Dig for Victory, which brings people together to grow produce in a brilliant setting and feed lots of people. We’ve been able to feed 150 families during the summer and use the produce to cook and learn how to make soups and healthy dishes.”
“Some people still don’t understand why we need something different for female veterans. They don’t understand the specific needs, and they also don’t recognise the contribution that female veterans have made to our armed forces in a positive way. Like any other veteran, they should get the support that they need in a way that makes sense to them.”
