The programme has made awards to community groups, places of worship, charities and schools to give them up to 10 silhouettes to support events in their local area. We have made Awards to over 2,600 organisations.

    Programme overview

    The programme has made awards to community groups, places of worship, charities and schools to give them up to 10 silhouettes to support events in their local area. We have made awards to 2,773 organisations. A key priority for the programme was to encourage communities to come together for community events that helped those involved to remember and to think about the Armed Forces today.

Under the programme community groups received support for events around the time of the Armistice 100 year commemorations, and were encouraged to think about the Armed Forces today. 2,773 awards were made across the UK 982 awards had a particular focus on young people 69% of projects said that the events brougght communities together more than they were expecting An average of 260 people attended each event (median average) 75% of projects planned to do follow up work as a result of their event
